Lao National TV Wins Silk Road Award for Joint Doc with Yunnan TV

KPL Lao National Television has been honored with the Silk Road Global News Award, an esteemed international recognition celebrating excellence in global media collaboration.


The award was presented in recognition of the documentary series “The Beautiful Laos”, a joint production betweenLao National Television and Yunnan Provincial Television. Each episode, running 50 minutes in length, showcases the natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and everyday life in Laos. The series was broadcast in both Laos and China, drawing attention for its rich storytelling and high production quality.

Following its release, the program garnered widespread acclaim from viewers and media professionals alike. The Silk Road Global News Award selection committee praised the series for its meaningful content and its role in promoting cross-cultural understanding.

Representing Lao National Television at the award ceremony was Ms. Malayvieng Vongchandy, Deputy Director-General of Lao National Television. The ceremony took place during the 2025 Silk Road Media Cooperation Forum and the “One Belt One Road, One World” Conference, held from September 15–19, 2025, in Kunming City, China.

This recognition marks a significant milestone in the growing media partnership between Laos and China, underscoring their shared commitment to cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and the values of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The success of “The Beauty of Laos” reflects the power of collaborative storytelling in building bridges between nations and enriching global audiences with diverse perspectives.
