13 Suspects Arrested in Cybercrime and Online Gambling Raids in Vientiane

KPL Lao authorities have arrested 13 people suspected of involvement in illegal cybercrime and online gambling operations during raids on rental properties in Chanthabouly and Hadxaifong districts, Vientiane, on September 12, 2026.

(KPL) Lao authorities have arrested 13 people suspected of involvement in illegal cybercrime and online gambling operations during raids on rental properties in Chanthabouly and Hadxaifong districts, Vientiane, on September 12, 2026.

A specialized task force from the Ministry of Public Security conducted the operations at rental properties in Nongtha Neua Village, Chanthabouly District, and Phonnguen Village, Hadxaifong District.

The suspects include 12 Chinese nationals, including two women, and one Lao woman.

Police seized a range of items during the operations, including 13 smartphones, one laptop, four desktop computers, two handguns and 19 rounds of ammunition. Authorities also found 1,494 pills suspected to be methamphetamine (Yaba), two oxygen tanks and other items believed to be related to the operations.

Public security authorities are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend other individuals who may be involved and to take legal action against those found responsible in accordance with Lao law.
