Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on July 23 to reaffirm both countries' commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila, the Philippines.
The two ministers welcomed the opportunity to strengthen relations and expressed satisfaction with the steady development of Laos-Norway ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1991.
They agreed to further enhance cooperation, particularly in the fields of economic development, technology, and innovation, with the aim of delivering more tangible benefits to both countries.
The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation in areas of shared concern.
