The opening session, convened at the National Assembly Hall, brought together lawmakers from across the country to begin deliberations on key national priorities and leadership appointments for the new term.
Members of the National Assembly voted with 99 per cent approval to retain Mr Thongloun in the top leadership position, underscoring strong confidence in his leadership and experience.
The first session of the 10th National Assembly is scheduled to run from March 23 to 27, during which lawmakers will review and approve major national agendas, including legislative plans, development strategies, and institutional frameworks for the new term.
President Thongloun’s continued leadership is seen as vital to maintaining stability and enhancing coordination within the Lao PDR as the country advances its governance and development priorities.
