(KPL/Yonhap) Republic of Korea and Denmark have agreed to seek opportunities to expand cooperation in emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), hydrogen and climate technology, the science ministry said Wednesday.
First Vice Science Minister Koo Hyuk-chae met with Mikael Hemniti Winther, the Danish ambassador to Republic of Korea, in Seoul on the day to exchange ideas on expanding bilateral exchanges in science and technology amid growing global competition, according to the Ministry of Science and ICT.
"Denmark is a leading player in Northern Europe, in terms of innovation, with great potential for cooperation with Republic of Korea," Koo said in a release, expressing hope for closer ties with Denmark within global frameworks, such as Horizon Europe, a research funding program.
The two officials exchanged views on their respective countries' policies on AI, hydrogen and climate technology, and discussed the need to identify areas for practical cooperation in the future.
"We hope the two countries continue exchanges and cooperation in the science and technology sector," Koo added.
