The meeting aimed to bolster cooperation between the Lao PDR and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, with a focus on mobilizing OECD support for Laos through the Southeast Asia Regional Programme (SEARP).

Minister Thongsavanh expressed gratitude for Laos' invitation to participate in the forum and acknowledged the OECD’s contributions to development in Southeast Asia. He emphasized Laos’ priorities in international collaboration, particularly in trade, investment, and infrastructure development.
