KPL On April 25, 2025, National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane held talks with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and his high-level delegation during the latter's state visit to Laos (April 24-25).

(KPL) On April 25, 2025, National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane held talks with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and his high-level delegation during the latter's state visit to Laos (April 24-25). 

NA President Xaysomphone expressed profound honour in welcoming President Luong Cuong and the Vietnamese delegation, highly valuing this official visit that brings warm friendship and deep solidarity to the Lao Party, Government, and multi-ethnic people.

He emphasized this visit significantly contributes to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, particularly in legislative collaboration between the two National Assemblies. 

The Lao NA President congratulated President Luong Cuong on his October 2024 election as Vietnam's top leader and conveyed warm regards to other Vietnamese Party, State, and National Assembly leaders—particularly NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man and all Vietnamese legislators. 

He applauded the outcomes of the bilateral meeting between the Lao and Vietnamese Presidents on April 24.
He commended the leaders' frank and fraternal dialogue and expressed profound gratitude for Vietnam’s historic and ongoing support, notably its assistance in constructing the new Lao National Assembly building as a landmark of bilateral ties.  

In response, President Luong Cuong expressed thanks for the warm hospitality of Laos. He praised enhanced legislative cooperation between the two national legislative bodies. 

He reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening the "great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation" with the Lao PDR. 
Both leaders reviewed expanding cooperation across all sectors between the two countries. 

They noted frequent high-level exchanges, including reciprocal visits between central and local officials, conferences and seminars, and co-publication of commemorative book highlighting the 50 Years of Lao and Vietnamese National Assembly relations as well as cooperation on strategic infrastructure projects to boost connectivity and socio-economic growth in the two countries.
