(KPL/Prensa Latina) Another Indian Air Force plane left today for Mandalay, in support of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, with 16 tons of humanitarian aid, rice and essential foodstuffs.

In a message on Platform X, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyan Jaishankar added that an Indian Navy ship also set sail on Tuesday with 442 metric tons of food for the people of Myanmar.

Jaishankar also said that the Army’s field hospital unit is already operational in Mandalay as part of the Brahma Operation activated by India after the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that left thousands dead and injured in its neighboring country.

Since the powerful quake, which also hit Thailand and was felt in parts of India and China, the Indian government began a non-stop delivery of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar in support of rescue and recovery efforts.

Military sources confirmed that on Saturday two aircraft transported supplies, medicines and survival equipment for the population in the affected areas, as well as 80 search and rescue team specialists, with equipment and relief material, and a canine squadron.

In a third shipment, a field hospital was added, with about 118 specialists, including doctors and nurses.

The Navy has provided four ships for the transport of support material and basic necessities, of which two arrived yesterday and a third one sailed this Tuesday.
