(KPL) On the 70th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), top Party and State leaders, led by Secretary General and President Thongloun Sisoulith, gathered to pay tribute to those who fought for the nation’s independence.

Marking the establishment of the Party on March 22, 1955, the commemorations began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Unknown Soldiers’ Monument in Vientiane. The event honored the bravery and sacrifice of revolutionary fighters who, under the Party’s leadership, played a crucial role in securing Lao independence.

Following the tribute, the delegation proceeded to the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum, where another floral tribute was laid in honor of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane. A key figure in the Party’s history, President Kaysone led the revolution that culminated in the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975.

The anniversary serves as a reaffirmation of the Party’s revolutionary ideals, expressing respect, gratitude, and commitment to national progress. By remembering the sacrifices of the past, Lao leaders continue to pledge their dedication to building a prosperous future under the guidance of the LPRP.
