(KPL) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a commemorative lecture to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on March 17, 2025.

The event was led by Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, a member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Attendees included Party members, department directors, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the lecture, Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane reflected on the historical origins, core values, aspirations, growth, and glorious traditions of the LPRP. He highlighted the Party’s historic victories in the struggle for national liberation and its significant achievements in safeguarding and developing the nation over the past 70 years.

He emphasized the Party’s unwavering leadership in the courageous and relentless struggle that led to the success of the national revolution. The LPRP has consistently guided the implementation of two strategic tasks: protecting the nation and advancing its development along the socialist path to ensure the well-being of the multi-ethnic Lao people.

The LPRP has always adhered to Marxism-Leninism as its foundation, the ideology of President Kaysone Phomvihane, and the steadfast principles of the working class. It has skillfully combined genuine patriotism with pure internationalism, maintaining a deep commitment to revolutionary ideals and the interests of the Lao people.

Throughout its history, the Party has upheld internal unity, strengthened national solidarity, promoted exemplary leadership, preserved political integrity and revolutionary ethics, and earned the enduring trust of the multi-ethnic Lao people.

As a result, the LPRP has proven itself as a political vanguard, a strong leading force, and a true representative of the working class and patriotic laborers. It has served as the core of the political system under the people's democratic regime, ensuring political stability, social harmony, and sustained economic, cultural, and social development.

Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane called on all Party committees, leaders, department directors, Party members, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to firmly uphold Marxism-Leninism, the ideology of Kaysone Phomvihane, and the goal of socialism. He urged them to correctly implement the fundamental principles of Party organization and activities, remain steadfast in their commitment to the working class, and prioritize the collective interests of the nation and its people.

He emphasized the need to set an example in both ideology and behavior, address existing shortcomings, and strengthen internal national forces while fostering international cooperation with strategic friendly countries.

The Minister also stressed the importance of promoting the Party’s fine traditions, particularly its leadership lessons, while learning from past challenges to enhance the Party’s leadership in the new era.
