(KPL/Prensa Latina) The Minister of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, spoke today with the elected president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, after participating in a high-level meeting in the Aztec capital.

The meeting with Sheinbaum took place in a fraternal atmosphere, in which they talked about the multiple and endearing Cuban-Mexican ties, the Cuban Foreign Minister reported in X.

According to the head of diplomacy of the Caribbean island, he conveyed to the first woman who will govern Mexico in more than 200 years, the congratulations of President Miguel Díaz-Canel and the affection that the Cuban people profess for her.

Likewise, on the social network itself, the imminent ruler of Mexico for the next six-year term wrote: “I was very pleased to talk with Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.”

On June 3, the Cuban head of state spoke by telephone with Sheinbaum, to whom he expressed the Caribbean country’s willingness to continue strengthening the endearing brotherhood between both nations.

Sheinbaum became the first woman to hold the highest office of the Aztec nation, winning the presidency with over 60 percent of the votes in the elections held on June 3.

The head of Minrex represented Cuba at the III Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policies, held in Mexico City and focused on the discussion of policies and strategies aimed at promoting equality through foreign policies, in addition to identifying positive experiences and the challenges of building more inclusive societies.

The second secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women Sonia Rivero, the second head of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yurielkis Sarduy and the specialist of the General Directorate of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Foreign Ministry, Yissel González, on behalf of the Antillean island.
