Myanmar President Pays Tribute at Unknown Soldier Monument in Vientiane

KPL President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his spouse and delegation, laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument in Vientiane on July 3, 2026, as part of his state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The wreath-laying ceremony paid tribute to the Lao revolutionary fighters and national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country's struggle for national liberation, independence, and the revolutionary cause under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.


The ceremony also honored the patriotism, courage, and dedication of those whose sacrifices contributed to the historic victory that led to the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975.
Senior Lao officials and members of the Myanmar delegation attended the ceremony, which was conducted with full state honors.
The tribute formed part of the official programme of President Min Aung Hlaing's visit to Laos, which is being held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and bilateral cooperation between the Lao PDR and Myanmar.
