(KPL) An art performance titled “Deep Friendship of the Lancang-Mekong: Advancing Together Towards Prosperity” was held on April 25 at the National Culture Hall to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and China, as well as the Laos–China Friendship Year 2026.

The event was attended by Mrs. Viengthong Siphandone, Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and Vice President of the Lao PDR, and Ms. Fang Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Laos, along with senior Party and State officials from both countries.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mrs. Suansavanh Vignaket said that 2026 is a historically significant year, marking 65 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties on April 25, 1961. She stated that the relationship between Laos and China has grown steadily over the decades through strong political trust, comprehensive cooperation across sectors, and a shared commitment to building the Laos–China Community with a Shared Future. She added that both countries continue to uphold the “Four Goods” principle: good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, and good partners.

The performance was organized as part of cultural exchange activities under the Friendship Year 2026 framework. It featured a joint presentation by the Xinjiang Art Theatre of China and the Lao National Art Troupe. The program included traditional dances and musical performances that showcased the cultural richness and diversity of both nations.

The event highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation in strengthening bilateral ties and promoting mutual understanding between the peoples of Laos and China.

The Lao Party and Government continue to place importance on advancing the master plan for building the Laos–China Community with a Shared Future. Efforts remain focused on expanding cultural exchanges and enhancing people-to-people connections to ensure that the longstanding friendship between the two nations continues to grow.
