(KPL) Manothong Vongsay, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, received a delegation of Chinese investors during a meeting held at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos on April 23.
The delegation was led by representatives of Lancang-Mekong Silk Road Holding (Beijing) Co., Ltd and included participants from 15 Chinese companies operating across various sectors.
During the meeting, Mr. Manothong welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of Laos’ socio-economic development, highlighting recent achievements and outlining priorities under the upcoming five-year strategic plan for the industry and commerce sector.
Both sides discussed investment conditions, including market entry requirements and government incentives available to foreign investors.
Talks focused on several high-potential sectors identified for investment, including real estate development, clean energy such as solar and wind power, mining, and the integration of advanced technologies.
The discussions also covered opportunities for cooperation in domestic production, international trade, and other areas of mutual interest.
The meeting marked an important step toward strengthening economic ties and promoting investment partnerships between Laos and Chinese private sector investors.
