Candidates Hold National Assembly Election Campaign at Phonxay Temple

KPL On Feb. 8, 2026 — Candidates for the 10th Legislature of the National Assembly representing Constituency 1 of Vientiane Capital (Group 3) met voters on Saturday at Phonxay Temple in Xaysettha District, outlining their qualifications and development priorities ahead of the February 22 election.

(KPL) On Feb. 8, 2026 — Candidates for the 10th Legislature of the National Assembly representing Constituency 1 of Vientiane Capital (Group 3) met voters on Saturday at Phonxay Temple in Xaysettha District, outlining their qualifications and development priorities ahead of the February 22 election.

The delegation included four candidates: • Mr. Viengkeo Vannachack (No. 6), President of the National Assembly’s Trade Union Federation

* Ms. Somphien Vongxay (No. 11), President of the Justice and National Defense–Peacekeeping Committee of the Vientiane Capital People’s Council

* Mr. Phaithoun Thiengmamay (No. 16), Director General of the Department of Financial Enterprise Management, Ministry of Finance

* Lt. Col. Nad Thepphavong (No. 21), Deputy Chief of Command and Head of the Logistics Department, Vientiane Capital Military Command

Residents from Fai, Phonxay, Phonthan and Saphangmo villages attended the session, along with city and district election monitoring committees and local authorities.

Each candidate presented their background, professional experience, education and policy priorities, giving eligible voters an opportunity to evaluate their platforms and leadership credentials.

The campaign event forms part of nationwide activities aimed at ensuring voters are well informed to choose their representatives in the National Assembly election scheduled for February 22, 2026.
