(KPL/Prensa Latina)Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocated, at the Group of 20 (G20) Summit, for a shift in promoting critical technologies based on human needs rather than financial considerations.
In the session on A Fair and Equitable Future for All: Critical Minerals, Decent Work, and Artificial Intelligence, the Indian leader added that these technologies should also be global rather than national and based on open source rather than proprietary models.
Modi explained that this vision has been integrated into India’s technological ecosystem, generating significant benefits in areas such as space applications, artificial intelligence, and digital payments, where the country is a global leader, with equitable access, population training, and responsible deployment.
He referred to the India-AI Mission, through which accessible high-performance computing capacity is being developed.
The Indian Prime Minister emphasized that, while AI should expand human capabilities, the final decision must be made by humans themselves.
He stated that it is necessary to quickly shift the focus from ‘Jobs of Today’ to ‘Capabilities of Tomorrow’ and proposed that the group develop a Global Framework for Talent Mobility in the coming years.
He took the chance to invite all G20 countries to the AI Impact Summit with the theme ‘Sarvajanam Hitaya, Sarvajanam Sukhaya’ (Well-being for all, Happiness for all), which will take place in the South Asian nation in February 2026.
Finally, he reaffirmed India’s commitment to global well-being, which, he assured, it defends from the perspective of sustainable development, reliable trade, fair finance, and progress in which everyone prospers.
