Luang Prabang Petanque Athletes Aim for Three Gold Medals at National Games

KPL The Luang Prabang Provincial Petanque Federation is intensively training its athletes in preparation for the 12th National Games, to be held in Vientiane Capital from November 15–25, 2025. The team has set an ambitious goal of winning at least three gold medals.

 

(KPL) The Luang Prabang Provincial Petanque Federation is intensively training its athletes in preparation for the 12th National Games, to be held in Vientiane Capital from November 15–25, 2025. The team has set an ambitious goal of winning at least three gold medals.

Mr. Xang Xanaphone, a member of the coaching committee, told local media that the team began training on August 1, 2025. The squad consists of 12 selected athletes, including six women, supported by six coaches. Daily training sessions focus on refining techniques, improving endurance, and strengthening teamwork to ensure full readiness for the upcoming competition.

According to Mr. Xang, the team is now 100% prepared and will compete in 11 events, including: Shooting (Men’s and Women’s) , Singles (Men’s and Women’s)

Doubles (Men’s and Women’s), Triples (Men’s and Women’s), Mixed Doubles (1 man, 1 woman), Mixed Triples (2 men, 1 woman), Mixed Triples (2 women, 1 man).

He expressed appreciation to all government, private, and community sectors for their financial and moral support, which have greatly motivated the athletes and facilitated effective training. Mr. Xang also encouraged citizens of Luang Prabang to continue supporting the athletes as they strive to achieve their medal targets and bring pride to the province.
