(KPL/Yonhap) The National Assembly on Wednesday adopted a confirmation hearing report for Han Seong-sook, the nominee for the minister of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, paving the way for her official appointment.
The trade, industry, energy, SMEs and startups committee approved Han's nomination during a plenary session, following her confirmation hearing last week.
Han previously served as CEO of Naver Corp., Republic of Korea's internet portal giant, from 2017-22.
In June, she was nominated to become the first minister of SMEs and startups under the Lee Jae Myung administration.
