(KPL) The Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Business Association was officially launched in a ceremony on July 3 presided over by Madam Valy Vetsaphong, President of the Association.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including Vice Presidents of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), representatives from the Department of Food and Drugs under the Ministry of Health, as well as business leaders, company executives, and factory owners from across the pharmaceutical and medical products sector.

The ceremony highlighted the Association’s roles, rights, and responsibilities, while also serving as a platform for discussions on its strategic action plan. The plan aims to promote, support, and strengthen enterprises within the sector, enhancing their contributions to national development.

With over 40 member companies, the Association is supported by both the public and private sectors—most notably the Ministry of Health and LNCCI—as well as through close collaboration among the businesses and factories operating in this vital industry.

The Association is expected to play a key role in driving growth, innovation, and standards in Laos’s pharmaceutical and medical products industry, while contributing to the country’s broader socio-economic development goals.
