Prime Minister Calls for Stronger Development in Kadane Subdistrict

KPL Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has called for stronger efforts to improve security, strengthen rural development, and raise living standards during a visit to Kadane Subdistrict, Khong District, Champasak Province, on July 25.

The Prime Minister, who is also a National Assembly member for Constituency No. 15, met with local Party and government officials, security forces, and residents to review the subdistrict's socio-economic development and public administration.
He commended local authorities for maintaining peace and stability while making progress in agricultural production, revenue collection, infrastructure development, electricity, education, healthcare, and tourism.
Sonexay urged local officials to strengthen political awareness and national unity while remaining vigilant against activities that could undermine social stability. He also called for tighter border security and intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking, social ills, illegal logging, deforestation, and illegal mining.
The Prime Minister encouraged the expansion of commercial agriculture and livestock production in line with the government's self-reliance policy, continued poverty reduction, improved village development funds, better land management, and the promotion of tourism linked to One District, One Product (ODOP) initiatives.
He also stressed the need to reduce school dropout rates, ensure adequate teacher deployment, improve healthcare services and vaccination coverage, strengthen flood preparedness along the Mekong River, upgrade public information systems, and enhance government services through the One-Stop Service mechanism.
Sonexay expressed confidence that local authorities and residents would continue working together to build Kadane into a stable, prosperous, and sustainable community.
