KPL On October 14, 2025, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone received General Phan Văn Giang, Minister of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and his delegation, who were on a working visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

(KPL) On October 14, 2025, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone received General Phan Văn Giang, Minister of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and his delegation, who were on a working visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The visit coincided with the Trilateral Meeting of Defence Ministers of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, held from October 14–15, 2025, and the joint disaster relief exercise involving the armed forces of the three countries.

Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone extended a warm welcome to General Phan Văn Giang and highly valued his participation in the trilateral activities, emphasizing their importance in further strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

He also underscored that the active cooperation and mutual support between the two Ministries of National Defence have continued to develop in all areas, contributing to the stability, peace, and development of both countries.

For his part, General Phan Văn Giang expressed his sincere appreciation to Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone for the warm and cordial welcome. He briefed the Prime Minister on the objectives and outcomes of his visit, reaffirming Vietnam’s commitment to deepening defence cooperation with Laos.
