(KPL) His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Majesty Queen Suthida of Thailand have sent a message of condolence to President Thongloun Sisoulith, expressing their heartfelt sympathy over the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.The message read:"I and the Queen are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of General Khamtai Siphandone, former President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. His passing marks the loss of one of Laos’s most important leaders and statesmen.Under his leadership, the Lao PDR underwent stable and steady reforms, particularly in economic and social development. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he also played a vital role in strengthening the close and familial ties between Laos and Thailand.On behalf of the people of Thailand, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the President, the people of Laos, and especially to the family of the late former President for this irreplaceable loss.”
