President Welcomes Thai Deputy Prime Minister

KPL Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith received on Nov 22 a courtesy call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Thailand Phumtham Wechayachai who was visiting the Lao PDR to attend the 18th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM), the 11th ADMM+Three, and other related meetings held in Vientiane.

(KPL) Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith received on Nov 22 a courtesy call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Thailand Phumtham Wechayachai who was visiting the Lao PDR to attend the 18th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM), the 11th ADMM+Three, and other related meetings held in Vientiane.

President Thongloun highly valued the Thai vice premier's visit to participate in the meetings in Laos.

He highlighted the significance of this visit in strengthening the close friendship and cooperation between the governments and peoples of Laos and Thailand, particularly in defence sphere.

In reply, Phumtham thanked President Thongloun for his warm reception and commended Laos for its outstanding achievements, especially its successful hosting of the ASEAN Summits and related summits.

He also briefed the President on the objectives of his visit to Laos.
