(KPL) Laos and Indonesia have a plan open a direct flight between Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR and Bali, Indonesia, in an effort to attract more tourists.
The plan was discussed during Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Mrs. Suansavanh Viyaket met her Indonesian counterpart Mr SANDIAGA Salahuddin Uno in Vientiane on January 25.
They discussed on training courses on Indonesian cooking for hotels and restaurants to prepare and welcome Indonesian tourists and a tourism technical training on turning tourism products into links with other businesses, which is the strength of Indonesian tourism.
The plan will then be proposed two governments.
Lao PDR needs to attract tourists from Europe and Australia who come to Bali, Indonesia to visit Lao PDR. Indonesia also needs to attract tourists from China who come to Lao PDR by train to visit Indonesia.
Minister Suansavanh also express gratitude to the Indonesian government for providing assistance and support to the Lao PDR for the chairmanship of ASEAN in 2024.
The statistics of Indonesian tourists visiting Laos in 2023, recorded 3,092, an increase of 72% compared to 2022.
