Laos welcomes over 1.7 million tourists

KPL (KPL) Laos welcomed 1,701,806 tourists over the past nine months of this year, an increase of 39% compared to the same previous year, according to the information from the Tourism Marketing Department, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

 

(KPL) Laos welcomed 1,701,806 tourists over the past nine months of this year, an increase of 39% compared to the same previous year, according to the information from the Tourism Marketing Department, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

The report has indicated that the top five countries visiting Laos were 365,515 Thai, 18,902 Chinese, 9,885 Korean, 6,695 American and 6,379 Cambodian, of which 644,756 are foreign tourists and 1,037,050 domestic tourists. Tourists from ASEAN countries, there were more than 89% and 6% from Asia Pacific. Tourists from Europe stood only 2% Government officials expect around 300,000 international tourists in the last quarter of the year.
