General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of the Lao PDR Thongloun Sisoulith has sent congratulations to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
(KPL) In his message dated October 1, President Thongloun, on behalf of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Government and people of Laos, as well as in his own name, extended warm congratulations and best wishes to President Xi and, through him, to the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese Government and the Chinese people.
President Thongloun noted that the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949 marked an important turning point in the country’s development and its pursuit of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
He expressed appreciation for China’s achievements over the past 77 years, noting progress in economic development and modernisation, improvements in people’s living standards, and the country’s growing role in regional and international affairs.
He said Laos viewed China’s development achievements as an encouragement for its own efforts in national defence, construction and development.
President Thongloun reaffirmed that Laos attaches great importance to strengthening relations and cooperation with China. He said Laos is ready to work with China to further develop traditional friendship, the comprehensive strategic partnership based on the “Four Goods” direction, and the Laos-China Community with a Shared Future for enduring stability in the new era.
He said continued cooperation would bring practical benefits to the peoples of both countries and contribute to peace, friendship and development in the region and beyond.
President Thongloun also expressed appreciation to the Party, Government and people of China for their support and assistance to Laos over the years, including during the country’s current national development efforts.
He wished the Chinese people continued success in building a modern socialist country with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and conveyed his best wishes to President Xi for good health, happiness and success in his duties.
On the same occasion, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane also sent congratulatory messages to their respective Chinese counterparts.
