The Lao Embassy in Brunei Darussalam has celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Lao National Day, hosting a ceremony on 8 December attended by Brunei’s Minister of Education, diplomats, senior officials, business representatives, students and Lao nationals living in the country.

(KPL) The Lao Embassy in Brunei Darussalam has celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Lao National Day, hosting a ceremony on 8 December attended by Brunei’s Minister of Education, diplomats, senior officials, business representatives, students and Lao nationals living in the country.
In his remarks, Ambassador Heuankeo Sangsomsack highlighted key milestones in the Lao PDR’s development over the past five decades, praising national progress and the government’s continued efforts to promote peace, cooperation and prosperity.
He also commended more than 32 years of diplomatic relations between Laos and Brunei, noting sustained mutual support and growing cooperation. The Ambassador welcomed preparations for the planned official visit of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to Brunei in 2026.
Ambassador Heuankeo expressed gratitude for Brunei’s backing, especially during Laos’ ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, and reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
