Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Congratulates China on its 76th National Day

KPL On September 29, 2025, Mr. Maithong Thammavongsa, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, led a delegation to the Embassy of China in Vientiane to extend congratulations on the occasion of the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China (October 1, 1949 – October 1, 2025). He was received by Ms. Fang Hong, Ambassador of China to Laos.

(KPL) On September 29, 2025, Mr. Maithong Thammavongsa, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, led a delegation to the Embassy of China in Vientiane to extend congratulations on the occasion of the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China (October 1, 1949 – October 1, 2025). He was received by Ms. Fang Hong, Ambassador of China to Laos.

On behalf of the Party Committee, leadership, and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Maithong expressed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Ms. Fang and all Embassy staff. He also requested that his sentiments be conveyed to the Party Committee, leadership, and personnel of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as to the Party and State leaders of China. He praised the significant achievements of the Chinese people over the past 76 years, particularly in the field of foreign affairs, which have contributed greatly to promoting peace, cooperation, development, and global connectivity.

The Vice Minister expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between Laos and China, including between their respective ministries of foreign affairs. He noted that this cooperation has deepened and broadened in recent years through the maintenance of close working mechanisms, coordination, and consultation, ensuring the effective implementation of agreements made by the high-level leaders of the two Parties and the two States.

The Lao side reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the traditional friendship and advancing the comprehensive, long-term, and stable strategic partnership between Laos and China. This commitment is based on the Four Goods principle and the concept of building a Laos-China/China-Laos Community with a Shared Future. Laos also pledged to continue implementing agreements reached at the highest levels and reiterated its unwavering adherence to the One-China principle, as well as mutual support in regional and international forums.

For her part, Ambassador Fang Hong expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm congratulations extended by the Lao side. She affirmed that the Embassy and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue fostering close relations with the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She emphasized that both sides will work together to implement high-level agreements effectively, thereby delivering tangible benefits to the peoples of both nations.
