(KPL) Tad Lor-Tad Hang is a natural tourist destination that is getting popular among domestic and foreign visitors.

In 2023, the Planning and Investment Department of Saravan Province authorized a private company to turn the Tad Lor-Tad Hang waterfall in Hoakhuaset village of Lao-ngam district into a tourist destination.

Director of the Tad Yeuang KM 40 Paksong Tourism Development Company Ms Sonethida Ounaphom said that Tad Lor-Tad Hang waterfall is an important tourist destination of Saravan Province. It is one of favourite destinations in the tourism ring of beautiful Paksong Plateau.

The development aims to attract more domestic and foreign visitors to the province thus contributing to economic recovery, job creation, poverty reduction and the protection of cultural, natural and historical heritage in the province.

The tourism development project has been split into three phases with phase 1 (2023-2026) dedicated to the renovation of the tourist site, building electric and water supply infrastructure, and botanical gardens; phase 2 (2026-2030) for expansion of tourism activities, building of hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops and phase 3 for upgrading the services to international standards.

During the first weeks of Visit Laos Year 2024, it was found that 300-500 tourists visited the waterfall per day.

Tad Lor-Tad Hang is located in Senvang Yai village, Saravan district, Saravan Province. This beautiful and famous natural tourist spot is just 31 km from Saravan provincial administration centre.

The waterfall originates from the Seset River in Sekong Province. It is about 10 meters high. It has been open to the public since 1986. Since then it has received a a large number of visitors on a yearly basis, especially during the Lao New Year festival.
