President Thongloun extends congratulatory greetings to Xi Jinping on China’s 72nd founding anniversary

KPL (KPL) Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith sent on Thursday a message of congratulation to Secretary General of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China (October 1, 1949 - 2021).
(KPL) Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith sent on Thursday a message of congratulation to Secretary General of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China (October 1, 1949 - 2021).

“On the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Lao multi-ethnic people and on my own behalf, I would like to extend warmest and best wishes to comrade and through comrade to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the entire fraternal Chinese people,” said Secretary General and President Thongloun Sisoulith.

In the message, President Thongloun expressed his happiness for witnessing that since the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949, under the clear sighted and creative leadership of the Communist Party of China, the fraternal Chinese people have written new chapter in history of national development, making major, comprehensive and firm achievements in building socialism with Chinese characteristics.

“The People’s Republic of China has recorded a great, miracle and leapfrog growth, strong political stability with society enjoying order and peaceful harmony, strong and modernized defense and public security forces, fast and constant economic growth, remarkable achievements in poverty reduction for 100 million people. The role and influence of China are rising at both regional and international arena,” said President Thongloun.

He highlighted China’s achievements in recording the first centenary goal in building prosperous society in all aspects of China and noted that the achievements the Party, government and fraternal people of China have made over the past 72 years have laid a strong foundation and new momentum for the continuation of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and a strong foundation for achieving the second centenary goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects by the middle of the century.

The President said that the Party, government and people of Laos uphold and attach importance to their cooperation with the Party, government and fraternal people of China and are extremely proud of witnessing that 60 years of diplomatic relations, traditional relations, comprehensive, and strong and long-lasting strategic partnership in line with the Four Good principle and based on the Laos-China partnership with shared destiny, are bringing concrete benefits to people of the two countries.

He spoke highly of the progress of major cooperation projects of the two countries including the Laos-China Railway Project which is scheduled to be opened to traffic in December this year noting that these projects are bringing great benefits for Lao people.

He also expressed gratitude to the Party, government and people of China for providing priceless assistance to the Lao people over the past years, especially for dispatching experts, medical team along with medical equipment and million doses of vaccines to the Lao PDR to support the prevention and containment efforts against Covid-19 in the country.

On the same occasion, Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh also sent message of congratulations to his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.
