KPL (KPL) The Government of the Lao PDR has announced 100,000 US dollars as relief aid for the victims of recent earthquakes and tsunami in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

(KPL) The Government of the Lao PDR has announced 100,000 US dollars as relief aid for the victims of recent earthquakes and tsunami in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

As of 5 PM of October 7, the death toll of the earthquakes and subsequent tsunami climbed to 1,944.

The death toll could rise any time with 683 people still reported missing feared dead and 2,549 others injured, Col. Muh Thohir, the chief spokesman of the regional military command of Central Sulawesi, was quoted as saying by Antara News Agency.

The number of evacuees reached 74,444 people and the number of houses damaged and destroyed reached 65,733 units, according to the news agency.
