Laos, Cambodia Boost Bilateral Cooperation Ties

KPL (KPL) Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Wednesday had a bilateral meeting with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen during his attendance of the World Economic Forum in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on May 10-12.

(KPL) Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Wednesday had a bilateral meeting with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen during his attendance of the World Economic Forum in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on May 10-12.

Both sides emphasised the existing traditional cooperation between two countries over the past years, during which leaders of the two countries have met and exchanged visits. They also expressed appreciation for the success of the 10th forum between the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Cambodian People's Party and the successful opening of the new Pra Preng Krian-Nong Nok Khian International Crossing Border Checkpoint when people of both countries cerebrated of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and Cambodia.

Both sides also expressed appreciation over the progress of bilateral border demarcation work as well as upgrading cooperation between the two countries to upgrade border security and together prevent all forms of smuggling, including those of narcotics, human trafficking and timber.

During their cordial talks, Prime Minister Thongloun expressed thanks to the host country for giving him a warm welcome and also applauded the success of the World Economic Forum hosted by Cambodia.
