Lao Leaders Extend Congratulations to China on National Day

KPL Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has extended congratulations to Chinese Premier Li Qiang on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.


(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has extended congratulations to Chinese Premier Li Qiang on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

In his message sent on September 30, Prime Minister Sonexay, on behalf of the Party, Government and multi-ethnic people of the Lao PDR, as well as in his own name, conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes to Premier Li and, through him, to the leadership and people of China.

Prime Minister Sonexay said he was pleased to see continued progress in Laos-China cooperation under the strategic guidance and leadership of the two countries’ top leaders. He noted that bilateral relations have been translated into concrete cooperation and strengthened at a higher and more comprehensive level, providing a solid foundation for the long-term development of the comprehensive strategic partnership and the Laos-China Community with a Shared Future in the new era.

He reaffirmed that the Lao PDR attaches great importance to its cooperative relations with China and expressed his readiness to work closely with Premier Li to implement agreements reached by the senior leaders of the two Parties and Governments, particularly the outcomes of the June 5, 2026 meeting between the General Secretaries and Presidents of Laos and China in Beijing.

Prime Minister Sonexay also expressed his hope to visit China officially and meet with Premier Li in the near future.

He wished the Chinese Party and Government leaders and people good health, happiness and continued success in advancing China’s socialist modernisation and achieving further development and prosperity.

He also expressed his wishes for the traditional friendship, comprehensive strategic partnership and Laos-China Community with a Shared Future to remain strong and flourish for generations to come.

On the same occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane sent a congratulatory message to Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
