Mr. Vanxay Phongsavanh Receives Ambassadors from Friendly Nations

KPL On March 31, Mr. Vanxay Phongsavanh, President of the Party Central Committee for Inspection and the State Inspection Authority, received courtesy calls from ambassadors of Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Thailand, and People’s Republic of China to Lao PDR.

(KPL) On March 31, Mr. Vanxay Phongsavanh, President of the Party Central Committee for Inspection and the State Inspection Authority, received courtesy calls from ambassadors of Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Thailand, and People’s Republic of China to Lao PDR.

During a meeting with Mr. Jung Yung-soo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Vanxay welcomed the diplomat and congratulated him on his appointment.

He noted the trust placed in the ambassador by the government and people of the Republic of Korea and expressed readiness to work closely with the embassy to further strengthen longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

On the same day, Mr. Vanxay received Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand.

He congratulated her on her appointment and highlighted the tradition of good neighborliness and the strategic partnership for growth and sustainable development between Laos and Thailand.

Mr. Vanxay said the Lao government stands ready to cooperate closely with the Thai Embassy to support leadership efforts in promoting mutual prosperity.

He also met with Ms. Fang Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China.

Mr. Vanxay said her appointment reflects the high level of trust between the parties, governments, and peoples of both countries.

Discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining relations as good neighbors, good friends, good partners, and good comrades.

Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the comprehensive, stable, and long-term strategic partnership and advancing the building of a Laos–China community with a shared future.

Mr. Vanxay expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s congratulations on the successful conclusion of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party

He also urged the government to prepare for graduation from Least Developed Country status by 2029, with a clear transition plan to maintain support from development partners.

Mr. Thongloun further instructed authorities to conduct strict inspections of all domestic and foreign investment projects and to take decisive action against those that are ineffective or non-compliant with regulations.

He also called for continued strict enforcement of Order No. 15/PM on forestry management, including the control of timber extraction, transport, and trade to ensure legal compliance and sustainability.
