(KPL) President Thongloun Sisoulith received the credentials of two newly appointed foreign ambassadors to the Lao PDR on 8 December 2025.
The new envoys are Mr Ong Kew Gee of Singapore and Mr Sergey Vladimirovich Chuzovskiy of the Russian Federation.
President Thongloun congratulated both ambassadors on their appointments and expressed confidence that their experience would help deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation. He highlighted opportunities to strengthen political ties, promote high-level exchanges, expand people-to-people contacts, and advance cooperation in trade, investment and other sectors.
The President encouraged the ambassadors to continue close coordination with relevant Lao ministries to advance the implementation of existing Memoranda of Understanding. He also suggested that they visit provinces across the country to help attract additional investors and business partners. President Thongloun expressed appreciation for the support their countries have extended to the Lao PDR.
The two ambassadors thanked the President for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to furthering cooperation and friendship between their respective nations and the Lao PDR.

Presentation of Credentials to Lao Ambassadors
On the same day, President Thongloun presented credentials to two newly appointed Lao ambassadors who will assume postings overseas:
Ms Vithaya Sayavong, Ambassador to India
Mr Thipphasone Sengsouriya, Ambassador to the Philippines
The President commended both diplomats and urged them to continue strengthening relations and advancing cooperation with their host countries. He called on them to promote the implementation of bilateral agreements, facilitate exchanges between leaders and citizens, seek wider international cooperation, and help attract investors, businesspeople and tourists to the Lao PDR.
He also emphasised the need for active contributions to socio-economic development and poverty reduction, supporting national efforts for the Lao PDR to graduate from Least Developed Country status by 2026.
