(KPL/Yonhap) Samsung Electronics Co. Chairman Lee Jae-yong met with the head of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd. Tuesday to discuss cooperation in system networks and artificial intelligence (AI), according to sources.
Lee met Reliance Industries Chairman MukeshAmbani at Samsung Electronics' office in southern Seoul, according to the sources. Ambani is also set to meet executives of Samsung affiliates, including Samsung SDI Co. and Samsung C&T Corp.
Reliance Industries is a major Indian conglomerate with a business portfolio covering petrochemicals, steel, telecommunications, retail and finance.
Jio Platforms, a telecom arm of Reliance Industries, has 500 million users, with Samsung Electronics previously supplying equipment for the mobile carrier's fourth-generation network.
In July last year, Lee attended a wedding ceremony for Ambani's youngest son in India.
