(KPL) On September 4, 2025, on the occasion of attending the 10th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR conveyed sincere gratitude from Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao PDR, to President Vladimir Putin for the warm and dignified reception extended during his official visit to Russia on July 31, 2025.
The Lao Prime Minister expressed high appreciation for the successful outcomes of that important visit, noting its significance as 2025 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Russia. He affirmed his commitment to implementing the spirit and outcomes of the bilateral meeting, including the jointly signed agreements, in order to achieve the expected goals and bring tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.
The Prime Minister also expressed sincere appreciation for Russia’s role in initiating and annually organizing the Eastern Economic Forum since 2015, describing it as a highly effective mechanism for strengthening regional and global economic cooperation. He extended gratitude to the Russian side for inviting high-level Lao leaders to participate as special guests in the 10th anniversary forum.
In addition, during his visit, the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR met with Lao students studying at the Suvorov Military School in Ussuriysk. He offered guidance and encouragement, urging the students to remain diligent in their studies so that upon completion they can return to contribute their knowledge and skills to the future development of the nation.
