(KPL) Tourism authorities from Laos and Thailand held a business matching event in Champasak Province on May 18 to strengthen cross-border cooperation in the tourism service sector. Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the event connected tourism businesses from Northern and Northeastern Thailand with counterparts in Champasak.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Surin Phetthany, Deputy Director of the Champasak Department of Information, Culture, and Tourism; Mr. Somsai Chomphunoi, Regional Director for Tourism Promotion in Northern Thailand; along with officials from related sectors and private tourism operators from both countries.
The event aimed to promote tourism products and services from Northern Thailand and to build collaborative networks between Lao and Thai tourism businesses. It also sought to enhance future tourist exchanges and regional connectivity.

As part of the program, Mr. Somsai presented tourism opportunities in Northern Thailand and introduced the “Lanna to Lane Xang” Travel Talk campaign. The session concluded with a Table Top Sale — a platform for direct business matching between Lao and Thai tourism operators.
