(KPL/TASS) The turnover of public catering establishments in Russia gained 9% year on year in January - February 2025 to 589.4 bln rubles ($7 bln) in comparable prices, the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
The turnover had an uptick by 8.6% in annual terms to 297.2 bln rubles ($3.5 bln) this February, the statistical agency reported.
"The public catering turnover in February 2025 amounted to 297.2 bln rubles or 108.6% (in comparable prices) against the level in the like period of the last year; in January - February 2025 - 589.4 bln rubles or 109%," the authority informed.
The restaurant market turnover added 0.8% monthly in February 2025. For comparison, the turnover of Russian restaurants grew by 9% annually and by 1.6% monthly in February of the last year.
The public catering turnover under the Rosstat methodology comprises revenues of restaurants, cafes, bars, and the turnover of certain other business, for example, public catering providers for social institutions or for banquets servicing.
