(KPL/Prensa Latina)  President Claudia Sheinbaum today highlighted the strength of Mexico's economy, highlighting the 2.4 percent unemployment rate recorded in December last year and comparing it with other nations in the world.

During her usual press conference, the President showed a table in which it can be seen that this Latin American country reports a lower figure in relation to other countries such as Japan (2.5), Germany (3.4), the Netherlands (3.7), Australia (4.0), the United States (4.1), Ireland (4.2) and Austria (5.0).

Referring to Mexico’s figure, she pointed out that this information was not released by the government, but from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, an autonomous public agency.

It is very good data, for those who are saying that the economy in Mexico is very bad.

On the contrary, the Mexican economy is very strong, and this is one of the most important data to establish how a country’s economy is doing,’ she stressed.

During the last few weeks, the nation reported historic highs in areas such as foreign direct investment, international reserves and tax revenues.
