PM Visits Japan to Celebrate 70th Anniversary of Laos-Japan Diplomatic Ties

KPL Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, along with his spouse and a high-level delegation, arrived in Tokyo, Japan, this morning for a working visit from Jan. 21-23, 2025.

(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, along with his spouse and a high-level delegation, arrived in Tokyo, Japan, this morning for a working visit from Jan. 21-23, 2025.

He was welcomed by MIYASHITA Tadayuki, Chief of State Protocol at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. along with senior officials from the Lao Embassy in Japan.

The visit is made at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru to strengthen the longstanding ties and cooperation between Laos and Japan, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

During his visit, PM Sonexay is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Crown Prince Akishino, hold a summit meeting with Prime Minister Ishiba, and attend the Laos-Japan Investment Promotion Meeting and a banquet commemorating the anniversary.
