(KPL/KCNA) The revolutionary leadership of the great Workers' Party of Korea, which is thoroughly bringing about a civilized and prosperous future through our own efforts and in our own way, holding high the ideals of putting people first, single-minded unity and self- reliance, is firmly uniting the entire people under the banner of patriotism and, with the might of its great unity, overcoming overlapping difficulties and endlessly unfolding a new era of century-long changes on this land.

The superiority and invincibility of our style of socialism are clearly demonstrated, and ideal “rural cultural cities” and fairyland villages, where modern civilization is condensed, have sprung up in the flood-stricken areas of North Pyongan Province, Chagang Province and Ryanggang Province that suffered severe natural disasters, marking the meaningful moment of their completion.

All the builders and volunteers, including Party members, People's Army soldiers and members of the Paektu Hero Youth Shock Brigade from all over the country who rushed to the disaster recovery areas in high spirits to heed the Party Central Committee's fervent appeal to once again overcome the crisis for the sake of our people and the fatherland and achieve miraculous achievements, successfully built sturdy embankments that could not be shaken by any flood in just a short period of four months or so, as well as modern houses, nurseries, kindergartens, schools, hospitals and clinics for thousands of households, thereby powerfully displaying the irresistible power unique to Juche Korea that grows stronger in trials and becomes firmer through the tenacious creative struggle of loyalty and patriotism.

This miraculous reality, which has carved yet another world-changing chapter in the history of the fatherland, is the noble fruition of the lofty view on the people and outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Un, who regarded the hardships he undertook for the people as a priceless glory and continued the immortal journey of devotion to the people for their safety and welfare.

The completion ceremony for the houses in the disaster-stricken areas of North Pyongan Province was held grandly on December 21.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, attended the completion ceremony.

As Kim Jong Un arrived amidst the sound of a welcoming song, all the participants gave enthusiastic cheers in reverence for the great leader of the people and the benevolent father who unconditionally directs and subordinates all state affairs to the people and turns the people's dreams and ideals into dazzling reality.

Kim Jong Un sent a warm militant greeting to all the builders who bravely overcame difficulties and successfully built a people's home in the flood-stricken area with absolute faith in the Party and firm belief in socialism.

Participants included members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea , members of the party's central leadership organs, officials of the Disaster Recovery Command, officials of North Pyongan Province, Sinuiju City and Uiju County, workers, People's Army soldiers mobilized for construction, and commanders and members of the Baekdusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.

Kim Jong Un gave a meaningful speech to commemorate the completion ceremony.

Kim Jong Un said that today we are having a meaningful completion ceremony to sum up the proud results of building a permanent protective wall in the flood-stricken area and restoring the foundation for the local people's life through the arduous recovery construction lasting over 130 days, and he proudly said that this grand change makes us realize once again how excellent the socialist ideal is and how sacred and honourable is our cause of overcoming difficulties with our own efforts and struggles and advancing.

Kim Jong Un, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Party and the government of the Republic, extended warm thanks to the soldiers of our army and members of the youth shock brigade, officials and working people of North Phyongan Province and volunteers from various places who, upholding the political ideal and plan of his Party of Korea which puts the people's safety and welfare first overcoming all hardships from the hot summer to the cold winter, fought tenaciously and built modern rural cultural housing districts in which the essence and future of our style of socialism are enshrined.

Kim Jong Un said that today's completion ceremony is a significant occasion to demonstrate that our socialist cause, which absolutely upholds and cares for the people, the foundation and all of the state, is overcoming any difficulties and continuing its majestic advance, adding that with the restoration done in this way, he has gained the confidence that even if there is another great flood of the century, the lower reaches of the Amnok River here will not be shaken and he cannot hide his joy at the relief that new life has come to the islands, which have been transformed beyond recognition of their former appearance.
