KPL Oudomxay Province has authorized a private company to conduct a feasibility study on transforming the Namhin View water basin into a sustainable tourist destination.

(KPL) Oudomxay Province has authorized a private company to conduct a feasibility study on transforming the Namhin View water basin into a sustainable tourist destination.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the study project was recently signed between the Oudomxay provincial authorities and Nam Hin View Complex Company Limited, with Mr. Somchit Panyasack, Deputy Governor of Oudomxay Province, in attendance.

Located in Nam Oun and Thasaleung villages in Xay District, Oudomxay, the Nam Hin View basin development project aims to establish various tourism and recreational facilities. Planned developments include a pedestrian street, supermarket, swimming pools, bungalow accommodations, entertainment venues, beauty shops, playgrounds, a public park, an orchard, fitness center, badminton club, golf course, and cruise services.

Following the MOU, Nam Hin View Complex will conduct a comprehensive survey and detailed feasibility study to assess the economic, technical, environmental, and social viability of the project. Key areas of focus will include assessing land suitability for sustainable tourism development, evaluating investment needs for water basin tourism infrastructure, planning for facilities and comprehensive tourism services, exploring compensation mechanisms and relocation plans for affected residents (in cases where private land, crops, or buildings fall within the project area), and developing a strategic and inclusive project design.

This feasibility study is a vital step toward the sustainable development of a natural tourist destination that enhances the local economy while preserving environmental and social values.
