KPL (KPL) Vientiane, July 19, 2024 - The Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and the Lao Front for National Construction have conveyed their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on July 19, 2024.

(KPL) Vientiane, July 19, 2024 - The Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and the Lao Front for National Construction have conveyed their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on July 19, 2024.

The telegram expresses the deepest sympathies and condolences of the Lao people from all ethnic groups upon receiving the news of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong's passing. The loss of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong signifies the departure of a revolutionary leader who dedicated his life, energy, and wisdom to the noble cause of national liberation, reunification, and the transformative journey of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong played a pivotal role in strengthening and empowering the Vietnamese party, state, and people. His unwavering commitment to defense, anti-corruption, and the elevation of Vietnam's standing on the regional and international stage has made him a distinguished hero of the new era.

The passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is not only a loss for the party, state, and people of Vietnam but also for the Lao party, state, and people, as well as our tribes. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, a revolutionary leader in the modern era, carried forward the mission of President Ho Chi Minh and made significant contributions to fostering the exceptional friendship, special unity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, and Vietnam and Laos.

During this somber moment, we extend our deepest condolences, prayers, and sympathies to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the President, the National Assembly, the Government of the Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the National Front of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese people, as well as the comrades and families of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong.

We firmly believe that the party, state, and people of Vietnam will transform this unfortunate event into a source of strength, fostering unity among the entire nation to forge ahead resolutely. Together, Vietnam will continue building a modern industrial country, realizing the aspirations of a prosperous and contented populace, and achieving democracy, justice, and prosperity.
