KPL (KPL) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Mr Saleumxay Kommasith attended “BRICS Dialogue with Developing Countries” on 10-11 June 2024.

(KPL) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Mr Saleumxay Kommasith attended “BRICS Dialogue with Developing Countries” on 10-11 June 2024.

 During “BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs/International Relations Meeting” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith met Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

They exchanged views on major global and regional trends and issues.

They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the framework of BRICS Strategic Partnership under the three pillars of cooperation – politics and security, energy and mining, national defense, information security, railway transport cooperation, culture and tourism, education and others.

The results of the joint agreement between the leaders of the two countries, especially the results of the meeting between Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Secretary General, President of Lao PDR and Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia have agreement in May 2014.

At the same time, the two sides also discussed relations in the framework of regional and international cooperation, including ASEAN-Russia cooperation, as well as exchanged opinions on a number of regional and international situations.
