Cuba promotes festival for entrepreneurs

For its conception, the mega-event provides a wide range of knowledge, including those inherent to marketing and digital communication, the founder of the digital communication agency La Penultima Casa and the entrepreneurship podcast El Pitch, Katia Sanchez, noted.

Through talks and panels, from the connection and networking spaces, El Pitch Festival facilitates the meeting between entrepreneurs and professionals, the exchange of ideas and the possibility of establishing collaborations to expand business opportunities, support and inspiration, she explained.

According to the specialist, the entrepreneurial sector in Cuba “is very young and has a variety of needs as to nourish itself with knowledge and tools that allow its development.” The lack of referents in the field of communication and its disciplines, such as marketing and advertising, made us start looking for alternatives to bring to the country foreign experiences that could be implemented in our context, she said.

This is how the first edition of the festival came about in 2021, amid the Covid-19 pandemic and with five speakers from different countries, and “today, we have much more diversity,” she added.

The leader explained that this time, the forum will be attended by Mariana Vaccaro, director of Podcasteros, the largest community of Spanish-speaking podcasters; and Florencia Estevez, founder of Latinas en SEO, a support network that empowers digital professionals.

Other participants will be Chuck Aikens, founder of Tymoo, creator of a unique method that integrates Artificial Intelligence in every step of the content creation process.

Inasmuch other figures are expected to attend, including Luke Tierney, director of the marketing agency Eco D2C and expert in digital advertising on platforms such as Amazon and Google, and Leticia Sanchez, founder of Afrohunting, a creative studio that celebrates Afro-descendant cultures through art, music and design.

According to Sanchez, the meeting will feature prestigious speakers from Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, the United States, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.

Among the issues on the agenda are SEO, content creation for social media, artificial intelligence, podcasting, project management and creative thinking, she added.
