(KPL) President Bounnhang Vorachit on May 4 received letters of credence from newly appointed foreign ambassadors to Laos to exercise their diplomatic duty in Laos.
The foreign ambassadors included Mohd Aini Atan of Malaysia, U. Ko Ko Naing of Myanmar, Cheng Manith of Cambodia, Marek Libricky of the Czech Republic, Francisco de Assis Morais e Cunha Vaz Patto of Portugal, Kreso Glavac of Croatia, Dosso Adama of Ivory Coast, Evren Dagdelen of Turkey, and Andrii Beshta of Ukraine.
While talking with the foreign ambassadors, the president expressed his warm welcome and congratulated them on their appointment to serve as ambassadors in Laos and contribute to enhance friendship and cooperation between Laos and their respective countries and wished the ambassadors success during their diplomatic missions in Laos.
In reply, the foreign ambassadors expressed thanks to the president for extending them a warm welcome and assured him that they would do their utmost to enhance relations and cooperation between their respective countries and the Lao PDR.
Laos established diplomatic relations with Malaysia on Jul 1, 1966, Myanmar on Jul 12, 1955, Cambodia on Jun 15, 1956, the Czech Republic on Sep 5, 1962, Portugal on May 31, 1995, Croatia on Mar 4, 1996, Ivory Coast on Jul 22, 2008, Turkey on Jun 26, 1958, and Ukraine on Sep 17, 1992,
