KPL Vanxay Phongsavanh, President of the Party Central Inspection Committee and the State Inspection Authority, received a Vietnamese delegation led by Nguyen Van Luong, Director of the Inspector Training School under the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam, in Vientiane on October 12 to strengthen cooperation in state inspection, anti-corruption and personnel development.

(KPL) The Vietnamese delegation is visiting the Lao PDR from October 11–17 to exchange experience and technical expertise with Lao inspection authorities.

During the meeting, Vanxay Phongsavanh welcomed the delegation and highlighted the importance of the visit in implementing the memorandum of understanding signed in 2022 and preparing for a new agreement expected to be signed in 2027.

He also expressed appreciation for Vietnam’s continued support for the Lao State Inspection Authority, including the provision of 20 training scholarships annually for Lao inspection personnel.

The visit reflects the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam and aims to strengthen collaboration between their respective inspection agencies.

Nguyen Van Luong said the delegation would conduct technical exchanges with the State Inspection Authority and the Luang Prabang Provincial Inspection Authority, focusing on Vietnam’s experience in improving inspection procedures, preventing corruption and developing professional personnel.

The discussions will cover inspection methods, anti-corruption operations, staff training, digital transformation, the development of legal frameworks, measures to address bureaucracy and wastefulness, and systems for ranking inspectors and providing allowances according to their professional grades.

The exchanges are expected to contribute to strengthening the capacity of Lao inspection authorities and improving the effectiveness of state inspection and anti-corruption efforts.
