KPL The Pingxiang International Fruit Trading Center, located in Pingxiang City on the China-Vietnam border in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is emerging as one of the region’s most important gateways for agricultural trade, handling millions of tonnes of fruit between China and ASEAN each year.

During a visit to the hub on June 15, a delegation of journalists from the Asia-Pacific region learned that the 488-mu (approximately 32.5-hectare) facility has a standard annual import and export capacity of 2.42 million tonnes and has recorded average annual trade growth of 10 percent over the past five years.
Officials from Pingxiang International Trade Development Group Co., Ltd. said the center benefits from its strategic location between the Friendship Pass and Puzhai border ports, allowing goods to move quickly through two major crossings linking China and Vietnam.

The hub plays a key role in the two-way fruit trade between China and ASEAN countries. Fresh durian, jackfruit, mango and dragon fruit from Southeast Asia are among the leading imports entering China, while mandarins are a major Chinese fruit export shipped to ASEAN markets.
In addition to customs clearance and transportation, the center integrates cold-chain logistics, warehousing, food processing and e-commerce. Imported fruits are processed into value-added products such as durian cakes and pastries, while online sales platforms and livestream marketing campaigns help expand market access.
A second phase of development is now underway to increase processing capacity and storage facilities, including dedicated space for hundreds of containers of fresh durian, as demand for cross-border fruit trade continues to rise.
The project has also generated employment opportunities in logistics, cargo handling, transportation and food processing, supporting local economic development while strengthening trade connectivity between China and ASEAN.
