KPL On January 22, 2026, Khong District, Champasak Province, organized a specialized training session to prepare for the upcoming elections of the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils (PPC).

(KPL) On January 22, 2026, Khong District, Champasak Province, organized a specialized training session to prepare for the upcoming elections of the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils (PPC).

The session was chaired by Mr. Chanthanongsin Chanthaphim, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District Administration Committee. Participants included members of the District Party Standing Committee, the District Election Committee, relevant sub-committees, and officials from 57 polling units across the district.

Objectives and Key Documents

In his opening remarks, Mr. Chanthanongsin Chanthaphim emphasized that the training aimed to strengthen shared understanding and ensure the election process is conducted uniformly and in strict compliance with the law.

Participants studied four key documents:

Politburo Resolution No. 26 on strengthening leadership and guidance of Party committees at all levels over the election process;

Guidelines on ideological leadership, focusing on promoting and expanding the democratic rights of multi-ethnic people;

The Law on Elections of members of the National Assembly and Provincial People’s Councils;

The action plan of the Khong District Election Committee.

Implementation and Procedures

The meeting also provided detailed guidance on implementing directives issued by the National Election Sub-committees at the local level. Key areas included:

Appointment of polling station committees;

Collection of voter data and statistics;

Candidate structures and profiles;

National defense and public security measures;

Budget management and public information campaigns;

Procedures for vote counting and the announcement of official results.

To deepen understanding, participants reviewed three sets of Q&A documents covering the sovereign rights of the people, the roles and responsibilities of the National Assembly and Provincial People’s Councils, and relevant election regulations.

These preparations aim to ensure that the election of the 10th National Assembly and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils is conducted successfully, transparently, and in line with established objectives.
